Risking Psychological Factors Causing Health Problems
of Professional Athletes

Health problems and sudden death is common among athletes. The main purpose of this study was, investigating number of risk factors that related to heart disease and injuring duration of exercise for champions. The samples were comprised of 50 sport teachers and 63 competitive athletes that were selected from candidates being ready fornational championship. Burn out, anxiety, hostility and anger, motivation and vitality were assessed in samples Data were analyzed by using of independent T-test and canonical correlation. Results showed that there were significant difference between two groups in burn out, anxiety, hostility and anger, motivation, vitality and heart disease and injuring during the exercise. In addition, canonical correlation analysis revealed that there was correlation between main variables significant in the whole and in the details. Results of the study showed that anger and hostility, anxiety and motivation were important in this correlation. So It can be concluded that competitive sports endanger athlete’s health by negative emotions. psychological intervention is recommended to prevent these these health problem risks.

Relationship of Patience to Personality, Mental Health and life Satisfaction

The present study aimed to examine the relationships of patience with life satisfaction, depression, anxiety, mental health, and personality factors, among a group of Iranian university students. In doing so, 252 university students (including 123 female and 129 male) filled out “the 3-Factor Patience Scale”, “Satisfaction with Life Scale”, “General Health Questionnarie-12”, “Anxiety and Depression Scales”, and “Mini-International Personality Item Pool-Big Five”. Analysis of the data showed that the three types of patience (namely: Interpersonal, Life Hardship, and Daily Hassles patience), were positively associated with life satisfaction and the Big Five factors of personality, and negatively associated with depression, anxiety and psychological dysfunction. Patience showed moderate relationships with the Big Five, and after controlling for the Big Five, patience managed to explain additional unique variance in life satisfaction, depression, anxiety, and psychological dysfunction. A possible neurological substrate of patience has been discussed.

The Relation between Mothers’ Personality Traits and Daughters’ Creativity

One of the influential factors totally in whole life is creativity. With respect to great importance of creativity in human activities and functions, exploring the components of this construct becomes a research appeal. Therefore, the aim of the present study is investigating the relation of personality characteristics of the mothers with their daughters’ creativity. 360 female high school students of Qazvin city were selected by multi-session random sampling months. They Administered the Abedi Creativity Assessment Test in one session. In addition, their mothers filled out NEO-FFI-R. The results of Pearson’s correlation test showed that there were significant positive relations between mothers’ extraversion with flexibility and total creativity scores of their daughters and mothers’ contientiousness with innovation, fluidness, flexibility, expansion and total creativity scores of their daughters. Moreover, mothers’ neuroticism had negative significant relations with innovation, fluidness, flexibility and total creativity scores of their daughters. In conclusion, the findings of the present study indicate mothers’ extraversion and contientiousness to have positive relations with their daughters’ creativity and mothers’ neuroticism has negative relationship with their daughters’ creativity. In other words personality profile of mothers plays a main role in the formation of creativity of theirs daughters.

The Effect of Gymnastics Training on Executive Functions Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder

The aim of this study was to investigate the possible effects of gymnastics training on executive function and sensory - motor developmental coordination disorder in children aged 8 to 10 in Tehran.This study was a quasi-experimental study. 34 children with coordination disorders 8-10 years of growth, the availability of objective, were selected and randomly divided into two groups (n=19) and controls (n=15) groups. Research tool for screening, Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire and the Raven's Progressive Matrices test. The dependent variables for the assessment questionnaire nerves- psychological Conner was used. The experimental group received an eight-week program for locomotor intervention gymnastics. Statistical analysis was performed using MANCOVA P≤0.05 significant level.Significant differences between control and experimental groups on all variables, functions Executive (P≤0.05- F=492.454a) Was detected. Results Research Show The Program Training Gymnastics can effect On Improving Executive Functions of Children with New Disorder Coordination Effective growth. It is recommended that schools use the gymnastic exercises can be reduced in children with developmental coordination disorder helped.

Investigating Efficacy of “Working Memory Training Software”
on Students Working Memory

The purpose of the present study is developing “Working Memory Training Software”, and investigating the efficacy of this computerized cognitive training on students working memory. This study is in R&D research category, and It is performed in a semi-experimental design. Its data were collected from students of the third grade (30), fourth grade (30), and fifth grade (12) of primary school. The children attended in intervention program for 10 sessions. The subtests of working memory in “Tehran- Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale” and “Wechsler intelligence scale for children” were conducted in all three groups on the pre-test and post-test. After eliminating the pre-test effect, Paired-Samples T-Test on total scores of subtests of working memory in “Tehran-Stanford Binet Intelligence Scale” (t=10.869, df=71, r=0.967& P<0.05) and in “Wechsler intelligence scale for children” (t=16.809, df=71, r=0.983& P<0.05) revealed a significant difference in post-test scores. Based on this study The “Working Memory Training Software” causes significant improvement in students working memory performance.

Structural Model of Relation between Parenting Styles
with Identity Styles and Identity Commitment Adolescents

This research examines the casual relationship between parenting styles with identity processing styles and identity commitment in adolescent girls. 391 female students in third grade of high school completed two measures: Perceived Parenting Style Scale ( Bury, 1991) and Identity Style Inventory( Berzonsky, 1997). Two structural equation modeling for fathers and mothers had good fit with data and showed complex interaction between family context and identity processing styles in adolescence. results of this research indicated that multivariate models help us understand the complex procces of identity formation.

The Relationship between Cultural Context, Thinking Styles & Achievement Motivation with Academic Achievement

The purpose of present study was to investigate the relationship of cultural context, thinking styles and achievement motivation with academic achievement among behavioral sciences students from university of Tehran. Three hundred and three students (96 boys, 207 girls), selected through stratified sampling method, answered a questionnaire, which consisted individualism / collectivism & power distance scale, thinking styles inventory (TSI), and achievement motivation scale – revised (AMS_R). In this study, the average of previous semesters was indicator of academeic achievement. Research data was analyzed by regression coefficient. Results indicated that contextual variable of individualism / collectivism and complex thinking styles ( also known as type 1 styles ) & achievement motivation to avoid failure were positively correlated with academic achievement and the situation / task - dependent thinking styles ( also as known type 3 styles ) were negatively correlated with academic achievement. Also, there is no significant associatin between contextual variable of power distance & achievement motivation to approach success with one. The study showed the role of contextual and environmental variables & independently of ability variables on academic achievement. Moreover, it emphasized on understanding of effective factors on academic performance.
