Abstract

the aim of this study was to develop a structural model of academic enthusiasm based on self-efficacy strategy with the mediation of emotional intelligence in second grade high school students in Marivan city. The research was conducted by correlation and structural model analysis. The statistical population included all second grade high school students in the academic year of 1399-1389 in Marivan city. The sample group including 330 people (174 boys, 156 girls) were randomly selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. The Academic Enthusiasm Questionnaire (Friedrich, Bloomfield and Paris, 2004), the Sherreh et al. Autonomous Questionnaire (1982) and the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (Siberia Schering, 1996) were used to gather information. The psychometric properties of these tools were examined in the current study and their suitability was ensured. The results showed that emotional intelligence and self-efficacy have a significant, positive and direct effect on academic enthusiasm, with 0.35 and 0.30, respectively. The results show that self-efficacy has the ability to directly predict students' academic enthusiasm.
