Developing a Causal Model of Academic Engagement based on Self-Regulation and Academic Excitements with the Mediating Role of Educational Self- handicapping. In terms of purpose, development and in terms of data collection, it was a description of the type of correlation. The statistical population included all female high school students in Hamedan who were studying in the academic year of 2018-2019. The statistical sample was estimated to be 384 people using multi-stage cluster method from the statistical population. Educational conflicts were assessed with the Rio Questionnaire (2013), self-regulation with the Garnefsky et al. (2002) questionnaire, academic excitement with the Pekran et al. (2011) questionnaire, and academic self-handicapping with the Miguel Questionnaire (2000). The results of structural equations with PLS software and Spearman correlation and analysis of covariance with SPSS software showed that the causal model of Academic engagement based on self-regulation and academic excitement with the role of mediating academic self-rehabilitation mediated. Positive and negative emotions affected academic engagement and academic self- handicapping, and academic self- handicapping explained the variable of Academic engagement. On the other hand, positive and negative emotions had a significant effect on academic involvement with the mediating role of self- handicapping.
