Effectiveness of the Optimal Experience Educational Package Based on Csikszentmihalyi's Theory on Innovative Behaviors and the Effective Teaching of Primary School Teachers

Abstract

The objective of the current investigation was to evaluate the efficacy of the optimal experience educational package in accordance with csikszentmihalyi's theory on innovative behaviors and effective instruction of primary school teachers. The research method was quasi-experimental, involving a pretest, posttest, control group, and a two-month follow-up. The statistical population of the research included elementary school teachers in Isfahan city in the academic year of 2020-2021. In this research, 30 primary school teachers were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups, with 15 teachers in the experimental group and 15 teachers in the control group, selected through the purposive sampling method. The teachers in the experimental group received the optimal experience educational package based on csikszentmihalyi’s theory during seven weeks in seven sessions of 90 minutes. The applied questionnaires in this study included innovative behaviors questionnaire and effective teaching questionnaire. The data from the study were analyzed through variance with repeated measures and Bonferroni post hoc test via SPSS-23 statistical software. The results indicated that the optimal experience educational package, which is founded on csikszentmihalyi's theory, has a suitable level of content validity in the eyes of the experts. Moreover, this package has influenced the innovative behaviors and effective teaching of primary school instructors. During the two-month follow-up period, these results remained consistent. According to the results, the optimal experience educational package can be implemented as an effective approach to enhance the innovative behaviors and effective teaching of primary school teachers by leveraging the reconstruction of awareness and activities, mental comprehension of challenges, control of mental energy, and activity targeting.
