Abstract
The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of group psychotherapy with dynamic-communication approach on fear of negative evaluation and experiential avoidance in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. The current study was a semi-experimental application with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group and a two-month follow-up period. The statistical population of the study was composed of people suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder who referred to counseling and psychotherapy centers in Isfahan during the second 6 months of 2023. In this research, 36 people with obsessive-compulsive disorder were selected by purposeful sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (18 people in the experimental group and 18 people in the control group). The people in the experimental group received the group psychotherapy with dynamic-communication approach during eight weeks in sixteen 90-minute sessions. Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Questionnaire (YBOCQ), Fear of Negative Evaluation Questionnaire (FNEQ) and Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire (EAQ) were used in the present study. The data were analyzed through mixed ANOVA via SPSS23 software. The results showed that group psychotherapy with dynamic-communication approach has significant effect on the negative evaluation (p<0.0001) and experiential avoidance (p<0.0001) in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
