Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural model of nomophobia based on emotional dysregulation and psychological distress with mediating role of loneliness in female students. In this research, the statistical population of the study were all female students in the second year of high school in Tehran city the year academic 2022-2023.The sample size was selected based on Kline model and with available sampling method (online method) of 300 students. To measure the variables, nomophobia questionnaire (NMP-Q), difficulties in emotion regulation scale (DERS), Kessler psychological distress scale (K-10) and University of California, Los Angeles- loneliness scale, version 3 (UCLA LS3) were used. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and structural equation modelling with using SPSS-24 and AMOS software was investigated. The results showed that there is significant relationship between emotional dysregulation, psychological distress and loneliness with nomophobia (P <0.01). Also, the loneliness plays a mediating role in the relationship between emotional dysregulation and psychological distress with nomophobia and proposed model had an acceptable fitness (RMSEA=0.069 and P-value <0.05) and explains 98% of the variance of nomophobia.
