The Effectiveness of Emotion Focused Therapy on Resilience and Rumination in 20- to 25-Year-Old Girls with Emotional Failure Syndrome

Abstract
The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of emotion focused therapy on resilience and rumination in 20- to 25-year-old girls with emotional failure syndrome. The current study was a experimental application with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group and a two-month follow-up period. The statistical population of the present study consisted of 20- to 25-year-old girls with emotional failure syndrome who referred to counseling centers in Isfahan in winter the 2024. In this research, 34 girl with emotional failure syndrome were selected by purposeful sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (17 girl in the experimental group and 17 girl in the control group). The girls in the experimental group received the emotion focused therapy during eight weeks in eight 90-minute sessions. Love Trauma Questionnaire (LTQ), Resilience Questionnaire (RQ) and Rumination Questionnaire (RQ) were used in the present study. The data were analyzed through mixed ANOVA via SPSS23 software. The results showed that emotion focused therapy has significant effect on the resilience (p<0.0001) and rumination (p<0.0001) in girls with emotional failure syndrome.
