Comparison of the effectiveness of reality therapy and positive thinking training on cognitive avoidance, emotion regulation strategies with gender moderating role in blind high school students in Ardabil

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to compare effectiveness of reality therapy and positive thinking training on cognitive avoidance, emotional regulation strategies and gender modulating role in blind high school students in Ardabil.
The research method was and quasi-experimental (quantitative), in the form of pre-test-post-test and follow-up with two interventional tin two independent groups and a control group with random assignment (22 people in each group). The society was formed by blind male and students in the academic year of 1399. 66 volunteers were selected by random sampling. The Cognitive Avoidance Questionnaire (CAQ) and Emotion Regulation Strategies (CERQ) were used. Positive thinking training was conducted in 10 sessions and reality therapy training in 8 sessions (60 minutes each session). Data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance and Beferroni post hoc test by SPSS21 software.
The results showed a difference in therapeutic intervention between the experimental control groups.Also intervention therapy program was more effective on cognitive avoidance and emotional regulation of girls compared to boys(P <0.05)The results of follow-up test showed the of therapeutic interventions after one month in experimental group.
Therapeutic intervention was effective on cognitive avoidance emotion regulation of blind students, its use in blind students emphasized.
