Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the mediating role of academic engagement and academic hope in the relationship between external development assets and academic Buoyancy, which is part of applied research in terms of purpose and correlational in terms of method. The research population was the 6th grade girls of Mashhad city in the academic year of 2011-2014, 471 people were selected through stratified random sampling. The tools included Rio's academic engagement scale (2013), Kharmai and Kameri's educational hope (2016), Benson et al.'s development assets (1998) and Martin and Marsh's academic buoyancy (2008). Data analysis was done through structural modeling with SPSS-22 and Amos-24 software. The findings showed that the coefficient of the direct path of development assets to academic engagement and academic hope, as well as academic hope to academic engagement and academic engagement to academic buoyancy is significant but development assets to academic buoyancy and the path of education expectation to academic buoyancy is not significant. The indirect effect of development assets on academic buoyancy through academic Hope alone and also through academic hope and then academic engagement is significant. The research model has a good fit and academic hope and academic engagement are fully mediated.
