Presenting the model of organizational bullying in educational and therapeutic centers: the foundational data theorizing approach

Abstract

The main goal of the current research was to provide a model for organizational bullying in educational and therapeutic centers with a qualitative approach and the foundation data method.
The research field included specialists and management experts familiar with organizational bullying, as well as doctors, nurses and employees working in educational and medical centers in Tabriz, and the sampling method was purposeful and theoretical saturation. The number of participants was 22. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview, and retesting and reliability between two coders were used to check the validity and reliability of the interviews and coding. Thematic content analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the causal conditions of organizational bullying include 3 core codes of unilateral power exercise, discrimination and inefficient management; Background conditions affecting organizational bullying include 4 core codes of personality weakness; and the consequences of organizational bullying including 8 core codes of physical and mental injuries; Dissatisfaction of the returning master; Demoralization, poor professional development, fragile professional identity; Fragile organizational identity; Administrative chaos and loss of competitive advantage.
