Compare the effectiveness of cognitive- behavioral therapy with Relaxation therapy on Delivery process in Primipara

Abstract

Fear of giving birth is one of the main problems in pregnancy and post partum. The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy with autogenic relaxation Therapy on fear of delivery. The statistical population was all the pregnant women in Tehran In 1395.Using a randomized controlled trial, a sample of 75 pregnant women were selected using Available sampling method and randomly divided into one control and two experimental groups Each group containing 25 persons. Data was collected using questionnaires of reasons of fear of delivery and Hartman fear of Delivery. The results showed no significant statistically differences between Two experimental groups but according to the means, cognitive- behavioral therapy was more effective, but not statistically significant. So about two components pain and body- Damage (In reasons of fear of delivery questionnaire), we found significant differences in level 0/05 of meaningfulness between two methods: cognitive-behavioral therapy and relaxation therapy. cognitive-behavioral therapy Was more effective than autogenic relaxation therapy  about both of components : pain and body -damage.
