Abstract

Objective: The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of TDCS-based treatment on symptoms of depression and attention in patients with depression.
methods: The design of the present study was based on a practical purpose, semi-experimental type in the form of a pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population of this study included all adult men and women with symptoms of depression who presented to psychological and psychiatric clinics in Ahvaz. The study sample consisted of 24 people, including 12 people in the experimental group (5 females and 7 males), and 12 people in the control group, (6 females and 6 males), who were randomly selected. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and the Rozold Continuous Performance Test (CPT) were used to collect data. Then, after 10 sessions of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS) in the experimental group, they again underwent the same tests as the post-test. Data were analyzed using statistical multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and software version 26 (SPSS).
