Abstract

The aim of the current research was to study the factor structure of the partner phubbing scale and its adaptability and invariance in Iranian society. The method of current research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection and correlational based on analysis process. The statistical population of this study was all married teachers of Zanjan province in 2022. The sample number reached to 841; Of these, 481 were female and 238 were male and 122 had not determined their gender. The main tool of this research was the Partner phubbing scale. Descriptive statistics indicators, Pearson correlation coefficient, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were used to analyze the dataset. Data analysis was done using SPSS26 software, Lavaan package and EGAnet package in R software. The findings showed that the Partner phubbing scale had a single-factor structure. All items except item 7 had acceptable fit with the graded response model. The fit indices were appropriate and acceptable. The outputs indicated that this scale had proper reliability. Although the discriminant validity of the tool was low, but it was maintained at the construct level. Gender invariance was confirmed for this measure.
