The aim of the present study was to comparing the effectiveness of self-determination skills training(SDST) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on the meta-emotional and mental toughness of women with uterine cancer. This study was a semi-experimental type with a pre-test and post-test design with control group and two-month follow-up. 45 of women with uterine cancer in Isfahan city 2023 were selected by available sampling method and randomly replaced in three gropes. Data collection tools were meta-emotional Mitmansgraber questionnaire (2009) and Clough mental toughness questionnaire (2002). The first experimental group underwent sessions of SDST of the Field and Hoffman (1994) and second group underwent sessions of ACT of the Dahel (2015). The control group was placed on the waiting list. The results of covariance analysis showed that both interventions were effective in meta-emotional and mental toughness in the post-test and follow-up phase (P<0.05). But only ACT is effective in improving negative emotions. There was a significant difference between the two experimental groups in meta-emotional and mental toughness, and the ACT were more effective than SDST. It can be concluded these two treatment methods are effective in improving the mental health of women with uterine cancer and ACT is more effective.
