English

The objective of this research was to develope a non-violent communication training package and evaluate its efficacy in reducing social anxiety and bullying among aggressive male students. It employed a thematic analysis through comparative method in the qualitative section and a quasi-experimental approach in the quantitative section, which included a pretest, posttest, control group design, and a two-month follow-up period. In the quantitative section, the statistical population encompasses articles, books, and theses that are pertinent to the theory of non-violent communication. Additionally, the quantitative section encompassed aggressive students from the second elementary school (9-12 years old) in Isfahan city during the academic year of 2022-2023. The purposive sampling method was employed to select 36 aggressive male students, who were subsequently randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups, each, consisting of 18 students. The non-violent communication training program was administered to the experimental group over the course of ten weeks, with each session lasting 75 minutes. Aggression Questionnaire (AQ), Social Anxiety Questionnaire (SAQ) and Illinois Bullying Scale (IBS) were used in this research. The data from the study were analyzed through mixed ANOVA via SPSS23 statistical software. The findings indicated that the non-violent communication training package has a content validity that is appropriate in the eyes of the experts. Furthermore, this package has had an impact on the social anxiety (F=66.85, Eta= 0.66, P≤0.001) and bullying (F=41.36, Eta= 0.55, P≤0.001) of aggressive male students. Based on the findings of the present research, the non-violent communication training package, which involves the acceptance of feelings without judgment, emotion management, empathic communication, and conflict management, can be employed as an effective approach to mitigate the social anxiety and bullying experienced by aggressive male students.
