The purpose of the present study was to validate and evaluate the psychometric properties of the academic emotion regulation questionnaire in high school students. For this purpose 204 students were selected from the schools of Mashhad using a multi-stage cluster sampling method. The data were collected using the academic emotion regulation questionnaire, emotion regulation questionnaire, academic Anxiety. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the academic emotion regulation questionnaire has 37 items and eight subscales: avoiding situations, developing competences, redirecting attention, reappraisal, suppression, respiration, venting, and seeking social support. Spss 26 and Amos 24 software were used for data analysis. The results showed that the scale has an eight-factor structure with an explained variance of 69.45. The validity of the content was confirmed by examining the correlation of this questionnaire with the emotion regulation and academic anxiety questionnaire. To checked the reliability of the academic emotion regulation questionnaire, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.88 for the whole scale and between 0.61 and 0.81 for the subscales, the results showed that this questionnaire has good validity and reliability in the population of Iranian high school students and it can be used as a suitable tool to measure emotional regulation in schools.
