Abstract

This research aimed to psychometric properties of the Persian version abbreviated wisdom scale in Iranian adults. The method of the present research is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive in terms of survey type, which is considered quantitative research. The population consisted of adults 20 to 75 years old in Arak city in 2023. In this study, 500 people (275 men and 225 women) a sample were selected using the access sampling method (online method). These individuals were evaluated using the San Diego Wisdom Scale (SD-WISE-7), San Diego Wisdom Scale (SD-WISE), Successful Intelligence Questionnaire (SIQ), Psychological Well-being Scale (PWBS), and creativity Questionnaire (CQ). The internal consistency, as well as the internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha), composite reliability, Omega coefficient, exploratory, confirmatory, criterion validity, convergent and divergent validity, and Pearson correlation coefficient were evaluated using the SPSS and AMOS version 24 software. The results indicated that this scale had a one-factor structure with an explained variance of 73.50%. Cronbach's alpha was 0.94, composite reliability was 0.83, and Omega coefficient was 0.91. The findings showed that the internal consistency reliability of the scale is 0.94. The results of the factor analysis confirmed the one-factor structure of this scale (RMSEA=0/072, CFI=0/913, NFI=0/925, GFI=0/934 and AGFI=0/962). The results of the correlation test also showed the positive correlation of this scale with long-form the convergent validity of this instrument (r=0/681, p<0/01). It could be said that the abbreviated San Diego wisdom scale has acceptable validity and reliability and not only can it be accomplished faster than the long form, but also its factor structure is more reliable.
