Introduction: Children and teenagers in their life path due to their sensitive and critical nature. Among these challenges facing the underlying factors of sexual abuse, which, if not prevented, will bring physical and psychological risks to them.Therefore, the current research was conducted with the aim of investigating the lived experience of children and adolescents of the underlying factors of sexual abuse.
Method: The approach of the current research was qualitative and its strategy was phenomenology. By using targeted sampling 15 children and adolescents who referred to Tehran forensic medicine were selected and the sampling process was completed based on theoretical saturation. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview . Then the interview data were analyzed in the form of concepts and categories.
Findings: , the main factors in the occurrence of abuse were (1) environmental factors . and (2) social factors .
Conclusion: healthy social and school environment to avoid drug use, awareness-giving to children and teenagers in connection with sexual issues, the skill of saying no. It is recommended to choose suitable friends and neutralize false information of peers and friends, take measures to reduce gender discrimination and sexual violence in society, family and schools
