The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the mediating role of emotion regulation and alexithymia in predicting job burnout based on ego strength in the treatment staff of Karaj city government hospitals.The current research was descriptive of the correlation type.The statistical population of the research included the medical staff of Karaj public hospitals.250 people were selected by available sampling method. The tools of the current research included ego Strength Scale(ESS)Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(ERQ)Toronto alexithymia Scale(TAS)and Maslach Job Burnout Questionnaire(MBI).The data were analyzed by the method of structural equation analysis in SPSS version 25 and Mplus version 8.3.The findings indicated that my firmness negatively and significantly predicted job burnout.My firmness had a direct and significant effect on emotion regulation and emotional ataxia. Emotion regulation and emotional ataxia also had a direct and significant effect on job burnout. The results of indirect path analysis showed that emotion regulation and emotional dyslexia significantly mediate the relationship between ego strength and job burnout. Despite the stressful environment of hospitals, it is possible to design and implement training programs based on my strength with more emphasis on emotional dimensions, including emotion regulation and ataxia, in order to reduce the burnout of medical staff.
