This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the role of sex education courses in the level of awareness and sufficiency of mothers to answer questions with sexual content of their children. The research method was qualitative and descriptive phenomenological. The field of research includes mothers who have received sex education training in Tehran in 2021-2022, among them, 20 mothers through targeted sampling according to the criteria of 1. At least 30 years old, 2. At least bachelor's education and 3. Those with 3 to 5year old children were selected. Research data were collected from mothers' lived experiences and semi-structured interviews about the role of sex education. For the validity of the research, professors of psychology and qualitative research were consulted and their agreement coefficient was 0.86. Then, all the data were analyzed using the seven-step of Colaizzi's method and MAXODA version 18 software. The results of this research were obtained in 6 main themes, education with 7 sub-themes, awareness with 4 sub-themes, attitude with 3 sub-themes, compliance with 2 sub-themes, reaction with 1 sub-theme and social life with 2 sub-themes. It seems that educating parents facilitates the field for increasing their awareness and empowering them to answer their children's questions. Therefore, it is recommended that specialists improve the awareness and adequacy of parents in the field of sexual education by conducting sex education courses in order to prevent sexual deviations and raise healthier children for the society.
