The aim of the current research was to validate the Brief Strength Test in Iranian society. This research was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population was the parents of primary school students in Yazd City in the academic year 2021-2022. The sample size was considered to be 300 people who were selected by cluster sampling, and finally, 286 people (224 mothers: 62 fathers) completed the questionnaires. Research measurements included Brief Strength Test (BST), the Coping with Children’s negative emotions scale (CCNES), and Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). SPSS version 26 and AMOS software were used to analyze the data. results of the exploratory factor analysis showed that the BST has a single-component structure, and also the results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model with a six-component structure has an acceptable fit (RMSE= 0.061; GFI= 0.99; AGFI= 0.95; NFI= 0.99; IFI= 0.99; CFI = 0.99). Cronbach's alpha for the BST total score was 0.93 and for the subscales between 0.60 and 0.78. The results of the research confirmed the convergent and divergent validity of the BST. In general, it can be said that BST has appropriate validity and reliability to measure character abilities in Iranian society.
